Exhortation by General Tseung to his men, at the

Recently Tseung Kai Shek, Generalissimo of the Revolutionary Army made at the 2nd Anniversary held at the Headquarters at Nan-chang a lengthy speech, consisting of several thousand words. We now publish it below:-

What we have to study is the military question. Last week I read in the English Press that Parliament in England had resolved to complete the construction of the Naval Dock at Singapore within 3 years, i.e. 1926 to 1929. We can prophesy that war will necessarily break out between England and Japan within the coming 3 years on account of the construction of the dock. Mark my words, Comrades! War will necessar- ily break out between England and Japan. And I must ask
The all of you to pay attention to what I have say. ability of our Chinese revolutionists and that of our Revolutionary Army to overthrow the militarists is no longer in doubt. But in order to achieve complete success, we must also overthrow the Imperialists, who are supporters of the Militarists. Therefore the overthrow of Militarism alone cannot mean a complete success for the Revolutionists. In fact, if we desire to secure complete revolutionary success, we must avail ourselves of the probable war between England and Japan to drive all Imperialist influence out of China. Our success will certainly be in that very year, and we know for certain that the opportunity for our success must come within the next 3 years. Therefore we must improve our
